Hello! My name is James Chavez and I am the Science and Instructional Technology Specialist at Collins Elementary. In that role I help to support the successful implementation of the District's Science curriculum in Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth grade. I also help support and manage all campus technology and provide support to teachers to integrate it in to their instruction and classrooms. In addition to my primary role I also manage the campus's website and social media feeds on X (formerly known as Twitter) and Facebook.

I have been at Collins Elementary since the 2019-2020 school year. I have enjoyed my time there and have supported various student activities, including Young Men in Action, Collins Construction Club, Coding Club, A/V Tech Club and the Morning Announcement Crew. I am a firm believer in the technology as a tool for supplementing quality instruction and believe that students can benefit from a balance of activities designed to use technology tools in moderation.
