Alief ISD’s Kerr High School has been named to the 2025 Texas Honor Roll, a prestigious recognition highlighting top-performing schools across the state for their commitment to academic excellence and student success.
The Texas Honor Roll is produced by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and presented by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE) in collaboration with the Texas Business Leadership Council. The recognition celebrates schools and districts that are successfully preparing students with the fundamental academic skills needed to thrive in college, careers, and life.
Only about 15 percent of eligible schools in Texas earned this distinction in 2025, placing Kerr High School among an elite group of campuses recognized for outstanding student achievement and performance.
The Honor Roll is unique among school recognition programs because it relies solely on objective student achievement data. Schools are evaluated using publicly available results from the Texas Education Agency based on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics assessments.
To be included on the Honor Roll, a school must demonstrate consistent academic performance above the state average for at least 80 percent of the time across all student groups and grade levels served. The recognition also highlights schools that are improving outcomes for historically underserved student populations, ensuring that all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities.
The Honor Roll is part of a national initiative that brings together education and business leaders to recognize successful schools and districts that are helping students build the academic foundation necessary for future success. For more than a decade, Educational Results Partnership has led this effort to identify high-performing schools and encourage collaboration among educators on best practices for improving student achievement.
