LENA Start

Do you have a 16 to 30-month-old?

Do you want your child to have a great start to school?

Do you live within the zone of an Alief school?

If you answered YES to all the questions above, you and your child are invited to participate in Alief ISD's LENA Start Program during the 2023-2024 school year.

  • Free 10-week program

  • The family member attends free 1-hour group sessions

  • Session instructions are for the family member, but the child is welcome to attend with the family member

  • Free weekly progress reports

  • Free materials, including 10 children's books

  • Classes in Spanish and English

  • Child must be between 16-30 months

Jump Start

Do you have a three-year-old child?

Do you want your child to have a great start to school?

Do you live within the zone of an Alief school?

If you answered YES to all the questions above, you and your child are invited to participate in Alief ISD's JumpStart Program during the 2023-2024 school year.

Alief JumpStart is...

  • Free 22-week program

  • Home-based learning

  • Family members attend a 1-hour school-based session per week.

  • JumpStart child attends every 3rd-week session with the family member

  • Free materials and books

  • Focused curriculum & modeled lessons

  • Must be 3 years old on or before September 1
