Welcome to art class!

I have been working for Alief Isd for more than twelve years and as an Art Specialist for over nine years. In Colombia, I studied Criminal Law and at the same time I was enrolled in the Art Academy (artistic drawing and oil painting).

Art has been a very important part of my life since I was very young. Art and reading were my favorite subjects in school, but art is my passion; I feel alive when I am working on a project and creating art truly brings me joy.

When I moved to America I started to work as a teacher and more than nine years ago I was given the opportunity to work as an art teacher and never looked back. It is the perfect fit. I love the fact that I’m able to share my love of art with my students and help them grow as artists and creative thinkers. The experience of teaching someone new things and seeing them apply it successfully  is a very  powerful one. However, it’s just as rewarding when a child perseveres, works through challenges, or shows growth, whatever their level.

Degrees and Certifications:

Law and Political science (University of Santiago de Cali) Artistic Drawing and Oil Painting(Alfonso Lopez Art Academy)
