Texas Hazard Communication Act

The Texas Hazard Communication Act went into effect in 1985 and was revised in 1993. The Texas Hazard Communication Act (THCA) is a state "worker right-to-know" law that requires public employers to provide their employees with specific information and training on the hazardous chemicals to which employees may be exposed in the workplace.  Chemicals can be found at home, in schools, in industries and in stores. Information can be obtained on any chemical product used by Alief ISD through Material Safety Data Sheets. Those Material Safety Data Sheets are maintained on the Risk Management web site at MSDS On Line.
