About Ms. Redmond
I’ve been in Alief for 13 years. However, I’ve been in education for 18 years.
My passion for ensuring that all children, regardless of race, color, gender, or sex, receive the best, most rigorous and effective education possible, is what drives me to develop programs focused on providing teachers with the tools necessary to meet students’ academic, emotional, physical, and social needs, as well as programs that develop, support, and maintain resiliency and “growth mindset” within my students. My holistic approach to educating students and addressing their needs lead me to utilize interventions focused on academic, psycho-social, spiritual, and emotional needs of my students. I believe in educating the “whole” child. It is my personal belief that “all” students have the right to access and preparation when it comes to being college and career ready. Therefore, they should be afforded every opportunity available to successfully prepare them for academic and social success. As the AVID Counselor/Coordinator for the past nine years, I have spent many hours facilitating this success ensuring that our students receive all the strategies, skills, and support that AVID worldwide has to offer, as well as training staff so that they, too, are equipped to provide that support. I share AVID’s mission which is to close the achievement gap by preparing ALL students for college readiness and success in a global society.
