Two-Way Dual Language Immersion Program: Definition and Rationale

  • Dual Language Immersion/Two-Way:

    • A bilingual program model that uses two languages, English and Spanish, for literacy and content instruction.
    • It provides the same academic content and addresses the same standards as other educational programs.
    • Instruction is provided in the two languages over an extended period of time.
    • Instruction in the partner language is at least 50% of the time.

    • Un modelo del programa bilingüe que usa dos idioma, ingles y español, para desarrollar la lecto-escritura y enseñanza en las áreas de contenido.
    • Brinda el mismo contenido académico y cubre los estándares de otros programas de educación.
    • Instrucción es proporcionada en dos idiomas durante un lapso de tiempo.
    • Instrucción en el segundo idioma se da al menos durante 50% del tiempo.

  • Registration is full for the Alief ISD Dual Language Program. We are still accepting applications into our Mandarin Immersion Program.
