    2022-2023 Alief ISD Professional Learning Information

    Professional Learning Calendar Year: March 1, 2022 through February 28, 2023

    District Credit Hours Required for Non-Alief U Professionals: 14 district credit hours

    District Credit Hours Required for Alief U Years 2 and 3: For the 2022-2023 school year, see the Teacher Induction web page

    District Credit Hours Required for Paraprofessionals: 14 hours earned through comp time, district credit hours, or a combination - all to be completed by February 28, 2023

     

    New Registration System for Professional Learning (PSPL)

    Eduphoria retired at the end of the 2021-22 Professional Learning year on February 28, 2022.

    The new registration system is PowerSchool Professional Learning (PSPL). You may have seen the new icon in your HUB. It was deployed to the HUB on February 1, 2022. Kudos to all of you who have already registered for summer professional learning opportunities with no formal instruction! We appreciate our resourceful and tech-savvy colleagues!

    When you open PSPL icon in the HUB you will see the PSPL homepage. Just click on Courses (in the menu bar at the top of the page) and you will see many options to find the right course for you.

    2021-2022 Alief ISD Professional Learning Information

    Professional Learning Calendar Year: March 1, 2021 through February 28, 2022

    District Credit Hours Required for Non-Alief U Professionals: 14 district credit hours - 7 completed by February 28, 2022. Staff members should meet their District credit hours requirement to score Proficient on T-TESS Dimension 4.3. 

    Alief U Year 1: For the 2021-2022 school year, see the Teacher Induction web page for information.

    Alief U Years 2 and 3: 35 district credit hours – 28 hours from a recommended list by Patricia Grady, Teacher Induction Coordinator; 7 hours from the District SLO Schoology Course – all to be completed by February 28, 2022

    Campus-based Paraprofessionals: 14 district credit hours – 14 hours earned through comp time, district credit hours, or a combination - all to be completed by February 28, 2022

    All District Credit Hours Must be Earned Outside the Workday*.

    • District credit can be earned for participating in LINCSpring. Completion of onboarding and the recommended playlist by February 28, 2023, earns teachers and staff seven (7) hours of district professional development credit for the 2022-2023 school year. Click here to access LINC Learning.
    • Outside professional learning sessions (F2F and virtual) occurring outside the workday can earn District credit. See the steps to secure approval by clicking on this link: CREDIT REQUEST FOR OUTSIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSION. As part of this process, you will be asked to upload your certificate of attendance.

    * Outside the workday is defined as before or after work hours or on any district day off. You may not earn District credit on sick days or during medical leave.

    The goal of the Professional Learning Department is to increase student achievement by providing a rich variety of brain-friendly learning resources for all Alief staff members. Teachers who know more have students who know more. A big part of a teacher's job is to continuously learn and become an even better teacher for even more students.
