Welcome to art class!

Being an art teacher is my passion and I’m excited to be working with you. My goal is to help students grow in creativity and as artists. It is important for students to practice creativity at this age so they can learn to problem solve in more ways than one. It is my pleasure to push your students to reach their fullest potential in the art world. I look forward to creating art with all of you!

I have been at Liestman Elementary for 19 years. I love teaching at Liestman and in Alief. I am also a member of the Lone Star Symphonic Community Band, and I play in the Handbell Choir at my church. I love teaching music and making music. My goal in teaching music is to teach music appreciation. That music appreciation intrinsically helps the brain learn the core subjects. Music has elements of math, reading, language, and science. I also hope to get as many students to join performing groups like band, orchestra, and choir when they get to Intermediate, Middle, and High School.

Hi, Liestman Musicians! Welcome to Music Class! I have been teaching music for more than 25 years, and I have been in ALIEF ISD since 1999! I look forward to sharing music with each and every one of you! We will sing, dance, and play to learn about music. We play instruments and utilize technology to tap in to all kinds of music creation and experiences. I look forward to helping you become independent musicians. We will read, create, perform, and listen to music together. See you in music class!
