Hello Mahanay Stars!

I have been teaching in Alief for more than 17 years. I have taught Intermediate and Middle School Choir, and Elementary Music. I am currently the Lead Elementary Teacher for Alief. I am honored to represent such a hardworking group of professionals.

In music, I like to bring fun and excitement to lessons, as well as real life examples. One of my favorite things is watching the faces of my students who are hearing various genres of music for the first time. I hope to help develop my students into blossoming musicians. I love when past students invite me to their concerts so they can show and be proud of what they have learned. My goal is for them to appreciate and understand music enough to want to continue it throughout their education and personal lives.

Art Teacher

Hi friends! I am so excited to be returning as the art teacher for Mahanay Elementary! I began teaching here in January 2022 and I absolutely loved it. Since elementary school, I had always dreamt of becoming an art teacher, and I am so grateful that my dream is now a reality.

Art has always been my go-to when it comes to self-expression and exploration. Whether it’s through drawing, painting, ceramics, or sculpture, creating art is a powerful way to express yourself and connect to the world around us. My goal is to inspire my students to find a voice in art, and to explore different mediums, both conventional and unconventional. Art can be clean, elegant, and realistic, but it can also be abstract, messy, and different from what we’ve ever seen. I hope that my students can find their style of art that best relates to them, and use these methods to express who they are.

I look forward to spending another awesome year with all my students, and sharing my passion for art with them!
