About Virtual High School Summer School
Alief ISD will be offering at no charge a virtual online Summer School June 1- June 25, 2020 for students needing remediation or to recover credit in courses toward graduation with a limited number of original credit courses. Students can take two periods (1 credit) worth of coursework and need to be available online for up to 3 hours and 15 minutes daily for each period.
First Period 7:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
Second Period 11:00 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.
All courses require counselor approval prior to enrollment.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS
Please remember that Summer School Curriculum is presented at an extremely intense pace in order to cover the state required Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in a limited time period. ALL students enrolled in Summer School courses will be expected to master at least 70% of the material presented. All students must have home internet access to participate in virtual summer school.
COMBINATION COURSES – Combination courses are full year courses taught in sequence. These courses are NOT taught as separate semesters. The first half of the full-year course is taught in the FIRST two and one-half weeks, and the second half is taught in the LAST two and one-half weeks of the summer session.
