Principal's Welcome Message
Dear Miller Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am overly excited to welcome all our Miller Mavericks back to campus as we look forward to all your students returning to school for full in-person learning in on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021. We will be back together as one. Last school year was undoubtedly and possibly the most challenging school year on record; however, our Miller Maverick community was resolute in supporting and caring for each other. Our continued commitment to increase the academic achievement and excellence in education of our students remains our top priority.
After experiencing a year like the last one, I am very much aware our Mavericks will be returning to campus with varying levels of academic, social, and emotional needs. Our Miller teachers and staff are well prepared and ready to meet the diverse needs of our students and ensure their success. I ask that you collaborate with us to promote the best learning experience for your child this school year. Our campus is a safe learning environment for all. Our custodians have worked hard over the summer to thoroughly clean and sanitize the building and we will continue with our robust cleaning regimen throughout the school year. There are a few things I want to emphasize as students return to full in-person learning.
· In-person (face-to-face) learning is in place for all students; there will be no virtual learning
· Students are required to be in full uniform attire (see Miller Intermediate’s website for uniform details)
· Be sure your child attends regularly and on time
· Communicate with your child’s teacher
· Praise your child for their effort in academics and appropriate behavior
More information will be communicated during our “Meet the Teacher” event on Thursday, August 5 from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Parents will have another opportunity to meet the teacher by attending “Parent night”, scheduled for September 16 from 5pm – 7pm.
Thank you, Miller families, for your support and I encourage you to get involved. I am thrilled to meet our Miller Maverick students and being back together as one with everyone working together to ensure their success. Please stay informed. Take a moment to view our website and follow us on Twitter @MillerMavsAISD. I look forward to an amazing year!
