Welcome to the Fine Arts Department

The Alief ISD Fine Arts Department serves students, faculty, and the community in the areas of Art, Band, Cheerleading, Choir, Dance, Journalism, Orchestra, ROTC, Speech, Debate, and Theatre Arts. The purpose of the Fine Arts Department is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for cognitive, creative, and social growth as well as the mastery of technical skills. Through the discipline of the Arts, we are preparing students for the 21st Century.
Alief ISD was named a District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association.

Alief ISD won the Texas Art Education Association's District of Distinction Award for the third consecutive year. Alief ISD received the honor for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and reach all different learners.
Only the top 4 percent of districts in the state earned this honor. TAEA is the leading advocate for the visual arts in the state.
“Alief ISD visual arts team has set a gold standard of excellence that will continue to drive our efforts by ensuring students are receiving a world-class education in the Arts. We are very proud of our art instructors and our visual arts students as well”, said Director of Fine Arts, Renferd Joseph.
