My name is Dr. Mytra Cunningham, and I am the principal at Collins Elementary School. I have been a proud member of the Alief family for more than 20 years and principal at Collins Elementary since the 2022-2023 school year. Before becoming a principal, I taught First, Second, and Third Grade and have served as Dyslexia Specialist, CIA After School Program Coordinator, ELL Specialist, and Assistant Principal.
I graduated from Prairie View A & M University, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies, and a master's degree in educational leadership. My doctoral degree was earned from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis on Special Populations.
It is my priority to ensure that every student receives an equitable education, and for them to feel safe and thrive in their school community.
