My name is Denise sanchez, I am one of the counselors here at Klentzman Intermediate School. It is my pleasure to be a part of the Klentzman family. I have a passion for working with children and am considerate of their needs. I find it fulfilling to work with students and their families to help them be successful.
I started working in Alief ISD in 2012 as a fifth grade bilingual teacher at Owens Intermediate School. While working as a teacher I found myself wanting to do more for students and I decided to begin working towards my Master’s Degree in Education. As I worked on my degree, I interacted with students that needed additional help with different issues and used counseling techniques to assist them. One of my strongest beliefs is that every child has the strength and potential to become part of something unique and special. Children are different based on their cultural background, life experiences, and feelings. I believe that it is important that students receive guidance and support to be the best they can be.
As an Alief graduate, I feel honored to give back to the community and find it fulfilling to be able to influence student’s lives. I consider myself a positive person that always looks out for the best of others. As a counselor, I constantly look for ways to help students be successful academically. I help students feel safe and listen to their concerns about emotional, social, or academic problems.
Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think. – Albert Einstein
