Alief ISD does not deduct for Social Security from employee's paychecks. Therefore, Alief must provide an alternative program for those employees not eligible for Teacher Retirement System. This program was mandated by the government January 1, 1992 and is currently under a third party administrator. Deferred compensation will be invested in the following manner: 100 percent to a group fixed annuity policy with JEM Resource Partners.
The deduction is 7.5% of gross pay and is non-taxable.
