All employees of the District are paid semi-monthly. Paychecks are issued the 15th and the last day of the month. If the 15th or the last day of the month falls on a weekend, payday will be the preceding Friday.
Salaried employees are paid their gross annual paycheck over 24 pay periods.
Hourly Employees and Substitutes:
Hourly employees are paid according to the Period Covered column of the Paydate and Cutoff Schedule.
All leave balances available are shown on your paycheck stub. Login to Employee online to view your paycheck stub. Absences are posted according to the Period Covered column of the Paydate and Cutoff Schedule. Contact the Substitute Office if you have any questions regarding docks on your paycheck.
Alief ISD compensates overtime for nonexempt employees in accordance with federal wage and hour law. All employees are classified as exempt or nonexempt for puposes of overtime compensation. Only nonexempt employees are entitled to overtime compensation. For purposes of calculating overtime for nonexempt employees a workweek begins at 12:00 am Saturday and ends at 11:59 pm on Friday. Weekly timesheets/timecards must be maintained by all nonexempt employees. All nonexempt employees must get prior approval before working overtime. Overtime is legally defined as all hours worked in excess of 40 hours weekly. Employees will be compensated for overtime with compensatory time off. Employees can accumulate up to 60 hours compensatory time. Compensatory must be used according to a schedule that is mutually agreeable to the employee and supervisor.
Child Support Administration Fee
Effective November 1, 2015, Alief ISD will begin withholding $1.50 per order, up to $5.00 per payroll according to Board Policy CFEA Legal, for the processing and electronic remittance of support payments to the courts.
