Printing Services Margin Requirements
Printing Services has margin requirements to ensure content information is not lost and the finished product is of the best quality. All of the equipment used in the department has minimum margin requirements. Therefore, we ask customers to follow our established requirements when sending request to Printing Services.
Printing Services requires a ½” margin on all sides of the printed sheet.
Work that is cut will require ½ margin on outer edges and 3/8” margin on each side of the cut line (see below).
Work that is folded will require ½ margin on outer edges and 3/8” margin on each side of the cut line (see below).
When we print work for campuses and departments the work is printed in stacks and then assembled into sets through another piece of equipment called a collator. Therefore, we require visible consecutive page numbers on all work that will need to be assembled into sets. Customers can add page numbering to work using any of the following mediums.
- Black or blue ink pen
- Added through a copier (see copier page numbering steps below).
- Added through a desktop printer.
Please do not use pencils when page numbering work. Pencils will not reproduce when printed.
