It is a pleasure to work with our staff, students, and parents here at Alexander Elementary! I am honored to be a part of a great school where staff and parents work together in order for our students to be successful and achieve their goals.

My educational experience includes four and a half years in the position of Assistant Principal at Chambers Elementary, and fourteen years at Hearne Elementary as a second grade teacher, reading interventionist, and as a reading, writing, and social studies specialist.

I am originally from Philadelphia, PA.; I moved to Alief in 1991 with my two boys. I enjoy time with my grandson who keeps me busy. Some of my favorite things to do are roller skating, golf, and going to the movies.

My adventure in life continues here at Deborah Brown Alexander Elementary where I hope to gain the trust and support of our school's community of learners. As we work together students can achieve their dreams and goals along with many exciting adventures!

I am very excited to begin my 2nd year as an Assistant Principal here at Alexander Elementary.  After graduating from Jarvis Christian College in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education, I began my teaching career as a kindergarten and 2nd grade teacher with Aldine ISD and Energized for Excellence Academy.  Once hired in Alief in 2004, I worked as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Best Elementary from until 2012 and as a Language Arts/Social Studies Specialist here at Alexander from 2012 - 2018.  I attended the University of Houston at Clear Lake from 2010 - 2012 where I received my Master's in Educational Leadership with a Principal Certification.   The 2019-2020 school year marks my 16th year as a dedicated Alief employee.  As one of three administrators, I am committed to continued growth and making a positive difference in the lives of others.  I love Alief ISD's students, parents, teachers and support staff. Alief does an exceptional job supporting its teachers, which results in students reaching their full academic potential. I believe with effective teachers, supportive families and a willing child, the possibilities are endless.

As the former Math Specialist at Alexander Elementary, I am no stranger to being part of the Adventurer family.

I was born and raised in Southeast Texas, receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in 1998, from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.  I started working at Bush Elementary, in Alief ISD, immediately after college.  After being at Bush Elementary for three years, I went on to teach at Sneed Elementary for five years.  From there, I taught two years at Hicks Elementary.

My ten years of experience in the classroom led me to becoming a Math Specialist for Alexander Elementary. I have enjoyed working with students and teachers alike.  While working at Alexander, I have served as part of the Instructional Leadership Team, which help make the transition into administration all the more fulfilling.

When I received my Master of Science degree in 2019, from University of Houston – Clear Lake, I had no idea where my path would lead me.  I am quite fortunate to remain at a campus that has been a part of my extended family for the past 11 years.

I am ready for my new adventure to begin!
