• As a teacher new to Alief, we are providing a set of professional development opportunities designed just for you. Alief U is designed to assist you in: transitioning to a new job, providing a forum for meeting other teachers in your content area, and introducing you to district personnel who are here to help you succeed.
     
    The summer Institute for Alief U Undergraduate Studies will be held July 31-August 3, 2017 at Taylor High School. Please view the attached brochure for an overview.

    Alief U Undergraduate Studies coursework 2018-2019
    If you attend the summer institute, your professional development expectations are:
    • STOIC - 7 hours
    • Action Based Learning - 7 hours
    • Meaningful Work/Content (based on your teaching assignment) - 14 hours
    • Schoology Basics - 3.5 hours: You will be scheduled for this course during the school year; information will be sent via email in September
    • English Language Learners Orientation - 3.5 hours: You will be scheduled for this course during the school year; information will be sent via email in September

    You will be preregistered for all of the courses above. The dates, times, and locations will be included on your Alief U Undergraduate Studies Degree Plan. The courses for year 1 induction are hidden in Eduphoria because they are intended just for new hires and you cannot unenroll yourself from the courses. If you need to make a change in your Degree Plan, you should email Patricia Grady immediately.
