• As a teacher new to Alief, we are providing a set of professional development opportunities designed just for you. Alief U is designed to assist you in: transitioning to a new job, providing a forum for meeting other teachers in your content area, and introducing you to district personnel who are here to help you succeed.

A new calendar was adopted by the Alief school board on May 27, 2020. The dates for the Alief U Summer Institute are July 23-24 and July 27-28. Alief U Undergraduate Studies is your first year of induction. A typical year of induction is 35 hours of prescribed professional development. Due to the COVID-19 interruption and regulations, the number of hours may decrease and our learning platform will be a combination of a traditional face-to-face and virtual.

When we are closer to the Alief U Summer Institute start date, and we have additional guidance from state and local authorities, your campus administration will send you more detailed information.
