After graduating from the University of Nebraska with a bachelors degree in education, I moved to Houston to teach algebra in Alief. I completed my master's degree in school counseling and after teaching for a handful of years, I switched into the counseling role.

As a counselor I believe that it is my job to work together with parents, staff, and community members to create a supportive, safe, and caring atmosphere to promote high academic achievement to prepare students for post-secondary education, military, or the job force.

Hi my name is DaVella Moore.  

I have been in education for a total of almost 31 years  and beginning my ninth year at Taylor High School as a counselor.    I received a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from Prairie View A & M in 2000, and my bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in 1989.  I am here to make sure that every child achieves an education while teaching them to be lifelong learners.   When I am not working, I enjoy watching football.  I am a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
