SAT scholars will engage in a week-long college readiness camps to gain insight on financial aid, scholarships, college applications and essays, and the essential steps to college entrance. This camp is open to students in the SAT Scholars program.

Children Interacting After School (CIA)
The Children Interacting After School (CIA) Department offers a six-week summer program for students currently enrolled in a 21st Century Community Learning Centers program at their campus.

Alief Summer STEM Bridge Program

Outgoing 3rd/ 4th graders attending Alief schools who are not invited to regular summer school.
Parents with students in the 3rd and 4th grade will receive an email from Alief ISD with a link to the registration form.

Students will engage in STEM courses such as 3D Printing, Robotics, Coding, Engineering, Makey Makey, and Forensic Science to help inspire STEM interest and engagement. Students will use the 4 C’s (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication).

An opportunity to explore your love or curiosity for science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a fun, exciting, stress-free way. Activities will include building Sea Perch underwater ROV’s; conducting who-done-it forensic investigations; experimenting with chemicals and learning how to code. We will also identify some of the future career possibilities that exist in STEM, by embarking on fun field trips and welcoming guest speakers to share their knowledge about their careers in STEM.
Come join the AMS summer STEM camp where students will learn to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, think creatively, and problem solve while having fun.

UTMB Health Clinical Laboratory Sciences Summer Immersion Program

UHD Texas Talent Connect Project 2023 Cyber & Other Securities Saturday & Summer 3-Week Intensive Training Program

Precollege, community college, and UHD STEM undergraduates can participate.
DESCRIPTION & ADDITIONAL INFO
The UHD Cyber and Other Securities Training Center will offer you an intensive, 1/2 year training program focusing on workforce training and STEM research lab skill development associated with:
1) cyber security, 2) mobile, cloud, hardware/software and IoT securities, 3) engineering SCADA and hardware securities, 4) robotic and artificial intelligence security, 5) chemical security, 6) drone security, 7) DNA-biometrics security, 8) virological disease security, and 9) development/enhancement of algorithms associated with programming security.
A prominent feature of this training program includes the expectation that certifications across each targeted security arenas will be accessible to participants ready to test for certification. Additionally, the program will support the cost of certification testing, upon instructor recommendation.
Project partners may include: Gulf Coast Workforce Board, UHD Scholars Academy, UHD College of Sciences & Technology, UHD Career Services Office. Additionally, industry/business partners could include Baker Ripley, Blue Lance, Ltd., Greater Houston Partnership and other Construction and Utilities, Manufacturing, Retail Transportation and Storage, Broadcast and Publishing, Telecommunications & Data Processing services.
All training is face-to-face at the UHD campus (One Main Street, Houston, Texas).

The Summer Language Institute (SLI) is specifically designed to serve the needs of Emergent Bilingual students within their first year in US schools. Newcomer students in grades 4-11 with Beginning English proficiency are immersed in a language-rich learning environment. SLI students have access to high-performing teachers with expertise in high SIOP implementation (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol).
Students have access to academic vocabulary and comprehensible content through the application of content and language objectives. They learn language and grade appropriate content through hands-on activities, project-based learning and use of manipulatives. Teachers integrate listening, speaking, reading and writing within scaffolded lessons and projects.
Students participate in grade appropriate field trips to local museums, the aquarium, the zoo, or factories. The Summer Language Institute embeds multicultural projects and celebrations to showcase pride in the diversity of the Alief community.
