Beginning with students enrolled in grade 12 during the 2021-2022 school year, each student must complete one of the following in order to graduate (in addition to meeting all curriculum and testing requirements):
- Complete and submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- Complete and submit the TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid)
- Submit a signed opt-out form
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will provide various resources to school and districts to implement this new requirement.
