Teaching 3-Dimensional Art is an enjoyment in my life that I look forward to doing for many years to come. As a professional artist that enjoys the process of creation and discovery, it is my pleasure every day to mentor your students into thinking as multi-dimensional creatives. I teach them many soft skills throughout the year that will help them well into their adult lives—skills that I have learned as a war veteran, like resilience, collaboration, and the power of transmuting difficult experiences through the creative process. I also equip them with the technical skills of creating and building with their hands, and bringing an idea or concept into a physical object. I push the students to think about what is possible today and what do they wish to see created, then empower them with the tools to make it happen.

Jeffrey Jacobitz
Hello! I am Jeff Jacobitz and I have been teaching at Alief Taylor High School for over 6 years now. I teach many different levels of art ranging from AP Studio to Art I. I love to work with my students to improve their drawing and painting skills, but also to help them find joy in art and what they create! I am originally from Nebraska, Kearney where I graduated in 2014 with a degree in Art Education (k-12). My favorite medium to work with in drawing would have to be charcoal because it is a perfect blend of messy and beautiful. Here at Taylor High, I am also the head tennis coach. I am proud to be part of the Taylor Lion Pride!

Valerie Martinez
Hello, my name is Valerie Martinez and I will be your child's Art Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. First of all, allow me to express how much I LOVE ART! I am very blessed to be living my dream as an Artist and Art Teacher. My goal as your child's Art Teacher is to help them to expand their creativity, to use their imagination to create original ideas, and to learn how to apply this to their own passions. My goal is to uplift your child and provide them with self confidence to ensure that they may become the kind of leaders that think outside the box in which ever field they choose. I do this with Art. In Art there are no mistakes, just happy accidents that allow your child to learn through exploration and freedom. Welcome to my art class. This is going to be a great year!
