National Blue Ribbon High Schools
-
Alief Early College High School (AECHS) and Kerr High School (KHS) are Alief ISD's National Blue Ribbon High Schools.
Students must apply to be considered for either school. Other admissions requirements may be applicable. Applications are accepted from 8th grade students attending Alief ISD middle schools. Out-of-district applications are accepted, but living in the Alief ISD attendance zone is required.
KHS offers students the opportunity to work in a non-traditional, self-managed learning environment similar to college. Students have many choices on how, when and where to study as long as they are completing assignments by teacher-established deadlines and demonstrating academic growth.
While enrolled in AECHS, students can earn an associate's degree and a high school diploma at the same time. Students attend classes at AECHS and also next door at Houston Community College's Alief Hayes Campus.
For more information, please visit the AECHS website and the KHS website.
