We incorporate STEM in many ways at Bush. STEM content is embedded into the science curriculum and each grade level has a STEM challenge. Coding and Engineering are taught in Library and Technology Block classes, respectively and students can come to Makerspace Mornings to practice what they have learned. We held 3 family events with STEM activities: Academic Night, Pastries with Parents STEM event and STEAM Night.
Also, parents and students had the opportunity to participate in some of the events on campus and learned about the importance and implementation of AVID. Parents were surprised by how AVID is helping students acquire many of the required skills for college and how it impacts their knowledge in elementary learning.
