Student of the Month

  • Klentzman STEM Academy's STEM Student of the Month

Ashley Corona is a sixth grade STEM student at Klentzman Intermediate. She is the daughter of Anita Gonzalez and Juan Corona. Ashley has an older brother, Ulises, who attends Hastings High School.

Ashley loves being in the STEM academy although she was a bit nervous about being accepted. She feels that the best part of being in the academy is being challenged by her teachers as well as the increased rigor in the assignments compared to regular classes. She’s glad to have made the decision to become a student in the STEM Academy.

Ashley’s parents are from Mexico and education wasn’t very accessible to them. They have always reminded her that her studies come first. Ashley is a great student who continues to earn markings on the A/B honor roll. She aspires for the A honor roll and dreams of becoming an immigration lawyer in the future.

In her free time, Ashley likes to read and sing. Her favorite book is “Because of Winn Dixie”. Few people know that Ashley can sing. If you’d like to hear her, you might be able to catch her singing her favorite song, “Like I’m Going to Lose You”.
