We are dedicated to providing every student with an effective Individualized Education Program in the least restrictive environment. With innovative and progressive service delivery models, nationally recognized staff, on-going and specialized staff development and expert supervision and support, we are committed to offering not only appropriate educational services, but also services which are the highest in quality.
Parenting a student with a disability can be challenging under normal circumstances. During this time of "special circumstance" distance learning, we are ready and willing to support our parents while your are providing academic, behavioral, communication and functional supports to your student at home. If you would like someone from the Special Education Department to contact you, simply complete this "Request" form indicating your need and we will contact you directly.

Your Family May Qualify!
TEA has created a program where families can apply for online accounts to receive $1500 per child for resources and services for special education students that have been impacted by COVID-19 school closures.

This website has been created to provide our families and staff with resources and information on mental health and well being.

2020 - 21 Parent to Parent Meeting Schedule
Parent to Parent Awareness Meetings provide parents with agency information to assist them in planning for their child’s future. Elementary through high school aged students who receive special education services along with their parents are invited to participate. Agencies will share information about services for children while in school or after graduation.

Volunteers Needed to serve as Surrogate Parents
Are you looking to volunteer in a meaningful way? Alief ISD Special Education is looking for adult volunteers to represent students with disabilities in the special education process. Training is provided prior to volunteering.
