Alief Distance Learning Guidelinesby
Online courses, also known as distance learning, give students the opportunity to take courses, on their time, wherever access to a computer and the internet are available. They are an innovative educational approach which transitions students from a traditional education system to an innovative learning environment and allows students to control their own academic success. Online courses use technology to eliminate boundaries and empowers students to develop the skills needed to be successful in an information‐driven global society.
Alief students have access to a variety of courses through our Alief Virtual School and the Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN). Both AVS and TxVSN courses are designed with interactivity, creativity, and higher‐order thinking skills. These courses are rigorous and are taught by highly‐qualified, certified online instructors. Students also have the opportunity to earn college credit taking online courses offered by colleges.Alief_Distance_Learning_Guidelines.pdf 570.23 KB (Last Modified on September 2, 2016)
